Organ Donation Information Desk at Executive Members Meeting at Jestha Nagrik Pratisthan, Nagpur

  • On April 19, 2025, MOHAN Foundation set up an Organ Donation Information Desk at Executive Members Meeting at Jestha Nagrik Pratisthan. Jestha Nagrik Pratisthan was established under the visionary leadership of Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, and Shri Dattaji Meghe, former Member of Rajya Sabha and founder of the Meghe Group of CBSE Schools, Medical and Engineering Colleges, Hospitals, and Banks. Shri Dattaji Meghe also serves as the President of the Pratisthan.

    Guided by their leadership, various Jestha Nagrik Mandals from different colonies have united under the umbrella of the Jestha Nagrik Pratisthan. The organization is committed to promoting health, cultural, and social activities for senior citizens, with initiatives such as free eye and ear check-up camps, the Jestha Nagrik Sanskrutik Mahotsav, walkathons, and recreational games. Currently, nearly 200 mandals are actively associated with the Pratisthan.

    At a recent executive members meeting, Dr. Raju Mishra (Secretary), Dr. Anil Sole (Joint Secretary), and Trustee Members Guritai Chandrayan, Dr. Sanjay Ugemuge, and Coordinator Dr. Neha Khadikar took a heartfelt pledge to donate their organs—demonstrating an inspiring commitment to a life-saving cause.

    It was unanimously decided that MOHAN Foundation and Jestha Nagrik Pratisthan will collaborate on the “Gift of Life” campaign to promote organ donation. As part of this collaboration, the following initiatives will be undertaken:

    • Establishing an information centre at the Pratisthan office once a week.
    • Setting up information desks at every medical check-up camp organized by the Pratisthan.
    • Conducting awareness sessions, including street plays and skits performed by members, to educate the community about the importance of organ donation.

    Total 21 people attended and 09 pledged for organ donation.This joint effort aims to inspire more individuals to pledge their organs and contribute to saving lives through the noble act of organ donation.
