Awareness on Organ Donation at EC Group Datasoft Private Limited

  Mr Arun Issac, Vice President pledging as Organ Donor

  On July 27, 2022, the EC Group Datasoft Private Limited, Anna Nagar, Chennai invited MOHAN Foundation for an awareness session on Organ Donation for their employees. This office is  the Indian arm of its main headquarters in USA. They specialize in  business dedicated software solutions. Ms. Arshiya Fathima H (Helpline Counselor) was the resource person from MOHAN Foundation. 

  Mr. Arun Isaac (Executive Vice President) gave a warm welcome address and introduction about MOHAN Foundation.  Ms. Arshiya Fathima H distributed information brochures, green ribbons to the staff gathered.  She then gave  employees an idea of Organ Donation by speaking on the need for organs, types of organ donations,  brain death, cardiac death and coma, how to register as organ donor, how to register if a person has  organ failure and how to safeguard from organ donation related scams. The audience were made aware of the effective usage of organ donation helpline 1800 103 7100. A recipient video endorsing organ donation  was played at the end of the talk. 

  The event was organized in the office cafeteria and was also live streamed. Over 20 employees actively participated and made the event  a great success. The session was very interactive and 10 of them picked up a donor card.  .

  Some of the questions put forth were:

  1. Who is Tamil Nadu’s state  governing body ?
  2. Where should we register for voluntary body donation?
  3. If  a person’s  organ is damaged, can he become an organ donor? 
  4. Can a HIV Person donate his organs?
