July has been declared as Organ Donation Month with the launch ‘Angdaan Mahotsav’ by the Central Government of India. On Sunday, 16 July 2023, Organ Donation Ambassador Ms Seema Choudhury, President Behrampur branch, Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Mahila Samiti organized a talk at Gopalpur Beach, Odisha.
There were 100 students of Bharati Education and Software Technology, Behrampur attending the session along with 2 faculty members. Students from nearby villages attend the classes offered by this institute.
Green ribbons were pinned on the students as a mark of support to the cause. Ms Seema spoke of the importance of organ donation, the gift of life, brain death, how to become an organ donor and about the myths of donation. After understanding the concept of recycling life, the students also participated in the campaign in collection of waste from the beach for recycling.
