On 21st January 2019, the organ donation awareness session was conducted by MOHAN Foundation and The Second Chance Project by Ms. Radhika Joshi in association with the NSS Club of HR College, Mumbai.
Mrs. Jaya Jairam started the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation as an NGO working passionately for deceased organ donation past 21 years. Then she shared about its mission and objectives and started explaining about what organ donation is, when, who, why and how it can be done.
She explained the difference between Cardiac Death & Brain Death in-depth. Then she elaborated about the organs & tissues that can be donated by both the cases. She also explained about the religious barrier and myths related to organ donation.
Dr Jimmy lastly showed few heart touching videos about organ donation to the students so they can empathize the power of organ donation. Also they were invited to join in our volunteering program & internship projects. About 35 students attended the session & 16 took pledge.
We thank Ms. Radhika Joshi, NSS Club of H.R. College and management of H.R. College, Mumbai for inviting us and giving us the opportunity to conduct session on organ donation for students.
