Awareness Session on Organ Donation at Red Cross, Karnal, Haryana by Ambassador Dr. Neena

  • On 9th June 2023, Dr. Neena Ambassador, MOHAN Foundation, Assistant Professor in B.R.M College of Education Gharaunda, Haryana, Lay Lecturer First Aid in St. John Ambulance India and Brigade Officer in Red Cross Karnal Haryana organized awareness talk on Organ Donation  for the Students of Driving License, at Red Cross, Karnal Haryana. The sessions were held for two groups of 10 and 15 students.

    Participants from both groups engaged in a highly interactive discussion about the topic.

    In this talk, she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation and its need
    • When and how does organ donation take place
    • Organs that can be donated during life and after death
    • The transplant waiting list in India
    • Brain death
    • Difference between brain and coma
    • Contradictions to organ donation
    • Role of MOHAN Foundation
    • Organ donation Myths and Facts

    All of them shared their willingness to donate their organs. At the end, Dr. Neena gave the vote of thanks. All participants took the donor cards. They would love to share their wish with their families.

    Close to 25 students participated in the session.
