On 2nd February 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited for giving awareness about the Organ Donation at Mohan Puram CHS Ambernath on the Occasion of Ladies Haldi-Kumkum function.
Dr. Jimmy Gupta held awareness session and introduced MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and philanthropy. She introduced the concept of Organ and tissue donation. She also explained the types of death viz. Cardiac and Brain Death and the organs and tissues that can be donated. She elaborated the procedure about bone donation which was new topic for the public. She also described that tissue donation (skin & eyes) can happen even at home which caught attention of the crowd and everybody started asking queries related to tissue donation which were answered promptly. She also discussed about Organ Donations that can happen in case of Brain Dead case and number of lives that can be saved by giving the examples of successful transplant stories articles and news about green corridor which was not familiar to the Ladies.
Few participants also shared their views about organ donation which were very inspiring. One of them Mrs. Daipodhe shared her experience about how she convinced his relatives for eye donation of deceased person from the family and also she shared that how she has become positive about organ donation after this incident.
About 30 ladies attended the awareness session. We thank Mrs. Swati (Secretary) and Mrs. Pallavi Kudneka (Treasurer) for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
