On June 12, 2026, the SRDF-MF Foundation was honored to conduct an organ donation awareness session at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Paprola, Tehsil Baijnath, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, following an invitation from Col. Joyous Joseph, Commanding Officer of 5 HP Battalion NCC Dharamshala. The program saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 450 NCC cadets representing schools and colleges across Dharamshala, along with 10 Officers, making it a significant initiative to spread awareness on the importance of organ donation among the youth.
Ms Preeti Gupta, Program Officer, introduced the mission and vision of the foundation, alongwith emphasized organ donation as the ultimate “gift of life” and highlighting the critical role of youth in championing this noble cause. She also presented the current status of organ donation in India, drawing comparisons with global benchmarks and discussing policy frameworks such as the opt-out system.

The cadets and officers actively participated, asking insightful questions and expressing their support. The Commandant and officers concluded by encouraging all cadets to pledge their organs and spread awareness among family, friends, and teachers.
This initiative not only educated the participants but also inspired them to become ambassadors for organ donation, reinforcing the message that donating organs is the ultimate act of giving life.
