On February 13, 2026, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh from MOHAN Foundation conducted an organ donation awareness stall at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi. The stall was organized for patient attenders with the objective of spreading awareness about organ and tissue donation and helping them understand the importance of this life-saving cause. Hospital-based awareness activities play a vital role in reaching families and caregivers directly, providing an opportunity to address their concerns and encourage informed understanding about donation.
During the stall, Mr. Singh explained the concepts of organ and tissue donation, brain death, and cardiac death in simple and easy-to-understand language. He also shared information about the organs and tissues that can be donated and discussed the legal aspects related to organ donation in India. In addition, common myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation were clarified so that participants could gain accurate knowledge and a better understanding of the subject.
A total of 35 patient attenders visited the stall and actively participated in the discussion. The session was interactive and informative, with attendees showing interest in learning more about organ donation and its impact on saving lives. One of the questions raised during the interaction was, “Who can donate organs?” This query was addressed during the session, along with other doubts, to help participants gain clarity and confidence regarding organ donation.
Overall, the awareness stall was meaningful and effective in creating awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation among patient attenders. The activity reflected MOHAN Foundation’s continued efforts to educate the public, dispel misconceptions, and foster positive attitudes toward organ donation through regular outreach and awareness initiatives.
