On February 14, 2026, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh from MOHAN Foundation conducted an organ donation awareness stall at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi. The stall was organized for patient attenders with the aim of spreading awareness about organ and tissue donation and helping them understand the importance of this life-saving cause. Conducting such awareness activities in a hospital setting is especially meaningful, as it allows direct interaction with patient families and attenders, creating an opportunity to address their concerns and encourage informed understanding about donation.
During the stall, Mr. Singh explained the concepts of organ and tissue donation, brain death, and cardiac death in simple and easy-to-understand language. He also provided information about which organs and tissues can be donated and discussed the legal aspects related to organ donation in India. In addition, he clarified common myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation, enabling the participants to gain accurate knowledge and a clearer understanding of the subject.
A total of 22 patient attenders visited the stall and actively participated in the discussion. The session was interactive and informative, with attendees showing interest in learning more about organ donation and its potential to save lives. One of the questions raised during the interaction was, “Who can donate organs?” This query was addressed during the session, along with other doubts, to help participants gain confidence and clarity about the donation process.
Overall, the awareness stall was effective in increasing awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation among patient attenders. The activity reflected MOHAN Foundation’s continued commitment to educating the public, dispelling misconceptions, and fostering a supportive attitude toward organ donation through regular awareness and outreach initiatives
