Awareness Session Conducted at St. John College of Humanities and Sciences, Palghar

  • An eye donation awareness session was conducted on January 21, 2026, for NSS students at St. John College of Humanities and Sciences, Palghar, with the objective of educating students about the importance of eye donation and encouraging them to support this noble cause.

     

    The session provided detailed information on the concept and significance of eye donation, including the process involved, eligibility criteria, and the steps to be followed at the time of donation. Participants were informed about how eye donation can help restore vision for individuals suffering from corneal blindness.

     

    Common myths and misconceptions related to eye donation were addressed and clarified with factual explanations, helping to build awareness and understanding among the students. The participants were also encouraged to pledge for eye donation and to actively spread awareness within their communities.

     

    Approximately 55 students attended the session, reflecting good participation and engagement. As an outcome of the session, one student came forward to pledge for eye donation. The program proved to be informative and impactful, successfully raising awareness about eye donation among the youth.
