An eye donation awareness session was conducted on January 20, 2026, during the Haldi Kumkum Program in Tembhode, Palghar, with the objective of educating community members about the importance of eye donation and encouraging them to support this noble cause.
The session provided detailed information on the concept and significance of eye donation, including the process involved, eligibility criteria, and the necessary steps to be followed at the time of donation. Participants were informed about how eye donation can help restore vision for individuals suffering from corneal blindness.
Common myths and misconceptions related to eye donation were addressed and clarified with factual explanations, helping to enhance awareness and understanding among the attendees. The participants were also encouraged to pledge for eye donation and to spread awareness within their communities.
Approximately 46 community members attended the session, reflecting good participation. The program proved to be informative and impactful, successfully raising awareness about eye donation and motivating individuals to contribute to this meaningful cause.
