An eye donation awareness session was conducted on January 17, 2026, at Gram Panchayat Umroli, Palghar, with the objective of educating community members about the importance of eye donation and encouraging them to support this noble cause.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Prachiti, who provided detailed information on the concept and significance of eye donation, highlighting its role in restoring vision for individuals affected by corneal blindness. She explained the eye donation process, eligibility criteria, and the necessary steps to be taken at the time of donation.
Common myths and misconceptions related to eye donation were addressed and clarified with factual explanations, helping to build awareness and confidence among the participants. The attendees were also encouraged to pledge for eye donation and to spread awareness within their communities.
Approximately 110 participants attended the session, reflecting strong community participation. As an outcome of the session, one participant came forward to pledge for eye donation. The session proved to be informative and impactful in promoting awareness at the grassroots level.
