Worley Parsons conducted a pan India Organ Donation Awareness drive in their offices. In Chennai the session was held on 23rd August 2016 and conducted by Dr. Hemal Kanvinde and Ms. Ann Alex of MOHAN Foundation.
Ms. Ann distributed green ribbons and information brochures to the 15 employees. Dr. Hemal conducted the session. It began with a motivational video followed by a talk that covered the following topics:
Types of Organ Donation - Live and Deceased Donation
Tissues and organs that can be donated Difference between Brain death and Coma
Importance of the consent from the family
Eye Donation
Importance of Donor card
Need of donation
Statistics of donation – national and international
Post the talk the discussion was on organ allocation and costs of surgery.
Mr. Ramdhas Vignesh thanked MOHAN Foundation for their effort. 2 staff members pledged for organ donation.
