Tech Mahindra, Shollingnallur conducted an organ donation and eye donation awareness session to the staff members. The session was conducted on August 17th 2016, in their campus cafeteria. MOHAN foundation was represented by Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Mr. S. Venkatesh, Transplant coordinator and Mr. Vikram from Shankara Nethralaya for eye donation awareness. The session divided into two 1. Eye donation & 2. Organ donation. The program was organised by Mr. Hari Bhaskar and Mr. Vignesh of Tech Mahindra.
Mr. Vikram showed a few film clips at the beginning, gave a speech about importance of eye donation and answered queries about eye donation.
Mr. S. Venkatesh gave a talk on the concept of organ donation and in his talk he explained the following topics like:
ü About MOHAN Foundation
ü Importance and need of organ donation
ü Types of donation- live & deceased donation
ü Organs and tissues can be donated in cardiac death and brain death.
ü Important of donor card, helpline and website.
In Q & A Session the staffs discussed the donor card and pledge forms, recipient waitlist and organ allocation. Around 50 staff attended the session.
An information stall was organised at the entry and more than 300 staff pledged to donate their organs and picked a donor card.
