Walkathon in support of Organ Donation to celebrate Organ Donation Day

  • Year after year MOHAN Foundation spreads awareness on Organ Donation by talking to schools, colleges, companies, communities etc so that every patient waiting for a life saving organ will get a second chance at life. NDTV and Fortis planned a walk to promote organ donation on 26th November 2017 at 7:30 AM at Elliot’s Beach, Besant Nagar, Chennai. MOHAN Foundation was a knowledge partner for the 2.5km walkathon event.

    Many colleges and schools took part in this walkathon. The walkathon was flagged off by Padmashree Shiney Wilson, Athlete. The walkathon started by 7:30 AM and ended at 8:45 AM. Also part of the walkathon were donor families, recipients, doctors, nurses and grief counselors. Students from MMM School of Nursing & College of Health Sciences, Punjab Association’s Gill Adarsh Matriculation School and Anna Adarsh College for Women, Tagore Medical College and CTTE College for women participated as part of the “Angels of Change” volunteers.

    Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram, Country Director of MOHAN Foundation along with the staff joined this social cause and delivered the message of Organ Donation to the people who took part in the walkathon.

    MOHAN Foundation set an information desk and morning walkers at the Elliots beach were given information about organ donation and all those who registered were given a donor card.
