MOHAN Foundation Mumbai was invited by Mrs. Vandana Kumbhar, professor at MGM Nursing College, for conducting the volunteer training workshop on 28th September 2018.
36 nursing students registered for the day long workshop. Mrs. Jaya Jairam began by giving them an introduction to the workshop and sharing the expectations with them. A mind mapping game was played followed by concepts of organ donation being explained by Mrs. Jigisha Yadav.
The participants were then asked to write a thank you letter to a donor family. Thereafter, the Organ Donation pathway game was played. The next activity included Stories of Hope. A session on Grief counselling was then conducted by Mrs. Jigisha Yadav, whereby she shared stories of various donor families - of their reactions when approached for organ donation and how they were counselled.
Lastly the volunteers were invited to share a short presentation on organ donation and how they plan to take up the cause.
