The couple pledged to become Organ Donors at their Wedding Ceremony, at Pune

  • On 2nd August 2020, Ms Pratima Phadatare from MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on Organ Donation on the occasion of the wedding ceremony of Mr. Monish Kamble at Bhavani Peth, Pune.

     

    Ms. Pratima Phadatare introduced MOHAN Foundation, its Mission, Vision,the concept of organ and tissue donation. Then she explained the concept of organ and tissue donation. She also explained types of death (i.e.) circulatory death, brain death and she explained brain death declaration through the Apnoea test and procedure of Deceased Organ Donation and Live Organ Donation. She elaborated on the procedure of skin, bone, and eye donation, as well as barriers to organ donation.

     

    After that, Ms. Pratima Phadatare explained myths and facts and how it impacts the organ donation process. She then explained about the donor card and how to become an organ donor. She also elaborated on the activities by MOHAN Foundation conducted for volunteers (i.e.) Angels change program.

     

    Around 29 participants, such as the Students from Study Centre, the family members of the Bridegroom and Mr. Monish Kamble, attended the session on organ donation. All the queries of participants were answered by Ms. Pratima Phadatare promptly. After the session, Mr. Monish Kamble & his wife pledged to become Organ Donors and also shared their positive perspectives about Organ Donation supporting the cause. We thank the students of Study Centre, the family members of the Bridegroom and Mr. Monish Kamble for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
