She then asked the audience if any one of them had signed up to be an organ donor or had any personal experience to share regarding organ donation. Mr. Jaideep himself got up to share that his own maternal grandmother (present for the talk) had signed up for whole body donation almost 30 years ago. He also shared about an aunt who had a kidney transplant.

Ms. Pallavi then explained the basic concepts of organ donation and transplantation with the help of a simple powerpoint presentation in Hindi as the target audience was all Hindi speaking and a few videos on subjects like brain death for better understanding and clarity were also shown. The condition of brain stem death was explained with the help of a video and common causes of brain death were also enumerated. The difference between coma and brain-death were also elaborated with the help of examples and videos. During her talk she shared the current statistics of organ donation in India in comparison to other countries. She touched upon the need for organ donation in our country, where a patient is diagnosed with organ failure every single day. Emphasis was also laid on corneal donation and how every individual can think about donating their corneas once they are no more.

Post the talk, Ms. Rashmi Ahuja (Chairperson, Ahuja Residences) stood up and shared how she and her mother have signed up for body donation for medical and research work. This served as a great encouragement for the staff and employees.

The session ended with a motivational video on organ donation. Close to 200 participants attended the session.
