



Dr. Nandita Mane, Assistant Professor at Matru Sewa Sangh Institute of Social Work in Bajaj Nagar, Nagpur invited Mr. Bulu Behera of MOHAN Foundation to deliver a talk on organ donation and transplantation on 17th February 2021 for the 1st year Masters students in social work.
Mr. Bulu Behera explained the process for living and deceased donations, organs and tissues that can be donated, brain death and its causes, the transplant law and the roles of NOTTO, ROTTO, SOTTO and ZTCC in organ procurement and allocation. History of MOHAN Foundation and its activities were also explained.
Mr. Behera also mentioned that while organ donation is very common in developed countries, very few people in India donate organs as they are not aware of the subject. MOHAN Foundation has been spreading awareness through its various centers in the country.
At the end of the talk pamphlets were distributed. Around 50 participants were present; 15 of them took pledge forms and 6 signed consent forms for organ donation.
