  Actor Siyan Vikram Fans Club Supporting the Noble Cause

  On the occasion of actor Siyan Vikram’s birthday on 1^st June 2014, Fans club from Triplicane, Chennai initiated an awareness programme on Blood Donation & Organ Donation. Mr. Bala, President of the Fan Club, invited Cadaver Transplant Programme to give an awareness talk & organize an information stall on Organ Donation. Mr. Prakash K. Transplant Coordinators was deputed from MOHAN Foundation to speak on the programme. The programme began with a welcome address by Mr. Bala, he explained the importance of event and Mr. Prakash spoke to the members of the fan club about the concepts of Organ Donation.

   

  The following topics were covered during the talk:

  • Activities of MOHAN Foundation across the country to strengthen the Deceased Organ Donation programme
  • Types of Organ Donation - Live and Deceased Donation
  • Difference between Brain death and Coma
  • Importance of the consent from the family
  • Importance of Donor card 
  • Tissues and organs  that can be donated
  • MOHAN Foundation website and helpline number as sources of information

   

  At the end of the programme 50 fans pledged by picking up  donor cards and supported the noble cause.
