Sensitization programme on Organ Donation conducted for ICICI Academy Nagpur

  On 9^th November 2022, Transplants Help The Poor Foundation and ICICI Foundation organized a talk on organ donation for ICICI Academy students (2^nd Batch). Mrs. Shushmita Chuckerbutty - Center Head of this academy coordinated with Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi to conduct this talk.

  Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi was the speaker for the day. She addressed the gathering and introduced MOHAN Foundation and its activities to the audience. She then discussed the below contents with the audience.

  • What is organ donation?
  • Who requires an organ transplant?
  • Types of death? Brain death and Circulatory death
  • Which are the organs and tissues that can be donated after Brain Death?
  • Body Donation and its procedure?
  • Myths and facts about organ donation were explained.

   

  The following questions were asked by the participants:

  • What is the procedure of Body Donation?
  • Can HIV infected person donate their organs?

   

  This session motivated 26 participants to pledge their organs. Close to 144 participants participated in the event.
