Sarathi Trust invites MOHAN Foundation to create awareness on multi organ donation

  • MOHAN Foundation Nagpur Centre was invited by Sarathi Trust, Buldi, Nagpur, to give information about Deceased Organ Donation awareness talk at their office  on 27th May 2014. Mr. Amit Nagrare was the key person in this initiative.  He is a counsellor for their HIV/AIDS project.

     

    Miss. Kanchan Shewde transplant coordinator of the MOHAN Foundation spoke to the staff and showed a presentation. She explained the concepts of Organ Donation. She highlighted that organs and tissues can be donated after brain death, natural death and while living. She also explained the concept of brain death. She explained that after brain death it is impossible to come back his life & if the brain death patient’s family wants to donate organs then they can help several people. Mr. Bulu Behera gave answer of the questions.

     

    After the talk she gave information about MOHAN Foundation activities as well as helpline number and the website. 16 participants were present in that program & 7 participants signed the pledge form.

     

    Some question asked by the participant such as given below.

    1)       In the case of live liver donation liver will the donor get any disease in future?

    2)      What are the age criteria for eye donation?

    3)      What processes during organ donation?

    Mr. Bulu Behera cleared all the doubts.
