Organ Donation Awareness talk at Red Cross Society of Nagpur

  • On 23th May 2014 MOHAN Foundation Nagpur centre was invited by Indian Red Cross Society, Nagpur, to  give information about Deceased Organ Donation. Mrs. Hemlata Lohaway, project coordinator organised the talk at their premises at Rahata Square, Nagpur.

     

    Dr. Ravi Wankhede Director of the MOHAN Foundation conducted that talk. With the help of a powerpoint presentation  he explained the Concepts of Brain Death and processes involved in Organ Donation. He explained that after brain death it is impossible to come back life & if the brain death patient’s family wants to donate organs then they can help several people suffering from end stage organ failure.

     

    He also spoke about MOHAN Foundation activities, the toll free helpline number  and the website as sources of additional information. 20 employees participated in that program, before signing the pledge form they wanted to discuss with their family members.

     

    Some question asked by the participant as given below.

    1. What are the processes of Body donation?
    2. What are the processes of skin donation?

     

    At last Mrs. Hemlata Lohaway thanked Dr. Ravi Wankhede as well as employees who showed an interest in the topic.
