The Ripon building is the seat and headquarters of the Greater Chennai Corporation in Chennai. It is an example of neoclassical architecture, a combination of Ionic and Corinthian styles. The Ripon building is an all white structure and it is located next to Chennai Central Railway Station.
On August 03, 2023, being the 13th National Organ Donation Day, the Greater Chennai Corporation led by Dr J. Radhakrishanan supported the cause by illuminating this iconic building in green colour. The green colour symbolises hope for those who are waiting for a second chance at life through transplantation. It conveys our gratitude to Organ Donors and their families for giving the greatest gift of all, the gift of life.
MOHAN Foundation team gathered at Ripon building and distributed brochures to the public and created an awareness. Nealy 100 people of bystanders and travellers going to the Central Station were informed about organ donation at the Ripon Building.
MOHAN Foundation wholeheartedly thank Dr. J. Radhakrishnan (Commissioner) and Mr. Baskar, Asst Electrical Executive for making this event possible and the staff for their coordination.
