Public awareness session for the employees of AGNITY India Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Noida, New Delhi

  • On 15th November 2013 an awareness session on organ donation was conducted for the employees of AGNITY India Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Noida, Delhi-NCR. Dr Muneet Kaur Sahi and Dr Sourabh Sharma, Transplant Coordinators' ,  MOHAN Foundation , Delhi - NCR represented the Foundation at the session.  

     

    V. Satyanarayan, General Manager - Operations, AGNITY India Technologies Pvt. Ltd. took the initiative to organize this session as part of CSR activity of the company. Mr Satya had earlier organized a similar talk in Mehrauli for the members of Nair Service Society being the Chairman of NSS and it was heartening to see him taking a similar initiative for the employees of his organization.

     

    Deepak Kapur, Director, Human Resource, AGNITY India introduced the MOHAN team to a group of 20 participants. The talk was conducted in English and was well received by the participants going by the response of queries being raised during the slide show.

     

    The need to carry a donor card, difference between brain death and coma, recipient waiting list to be projected on the hospital websites, central registration, presence of NGO's promoting organ donation in a government set up were some of the queries that were answered by the MOHAN team.

     

    Mr Kapur shared with the participants that his grandfather had made a will stating that his organs/tissues upon death should be donated. He also stated in his will that his body should be cremated in an echo friendly manner and ashes should not be dispersed in the river so as to prevent river pollution.

     

    The session ended with the vote of thanks given by Manjeet Singh, Country Manager, AGNITY India.

     

    All the participants present took the donor cards and few extra were taken by Mr. Kapur for those who could not attend the session.
