Public awareness session at Laser Ken IT Services India Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon

  • On 21st July 21, 2014 an awareness session on organ donation was held at the office of Laser Ken IT Services India Pvt Ltd in Gurgaon‘s IRIS Tech park, conducted  MOHAN Foundation, Delhi-NCR office.

     

    Laser Ken is a pioneering sheet metal fabrication company headquartered in Spain set up in 1990. The company aims to offer fast and effective solutions to the metal industry by using laser as a flexible tool to alter sheet metal for varied applications. The company has earned a name in the metal industry and is one of the leading players in the national market.

     

    The Laser Ken representative Ms.Rupali Dhagat, Senior Executive Assistant to the Director introduced the MOHAN Foundation staff and set tone for the presentation. Dr. Muneet Kaur Sahi, Senior Transplant coordinator made the presentation.

     

    The session covered key issues like need for organ donation, organ donation rate, brain death and myths surrounding organ donation. There was an active interaction between the participants after the talk on various aspects related to eye and organ donation. A keen participant asked several questions on the financial aspect of the organ transplantation and another participant suggested that the role of government should be greater and in a lighter tone added that India should surpass Croatia which has the world’s highest organ donation rate.

     

    MOHAN Foundation has been requested to do two more presentations at the same venue, the sessions have been slated for July 28 and Aug 4 2014 respectively.

     

    34 members attended the talk and 23 cards were picked up after the session and few picked up cards for their family members as well.
