Public Awareness Session on Organ Donation at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, Delhi

  • On 23rd September, 2013 an awareness session on organ donation was organised for the students of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, Delhi. MOHAN Foundation, Delhi-NCR was invited to address the students.

     

    The session was organized by the Social Service League (SSL) of the college. The SSL of St Stephen’s College was founded by Mr. C. H. C. Sharp and Reverend W. F. Ireland in 1913, with the motto – ‘Service above Self’. The SSL is actively involved in working for the upliftment of the underprivileged sections of society in and around the college campus.

     

    The session was attended by students from the following Departments: Physics, History, Economics and Maths. It was an interactive session with lots of inputs from the participants especially on eye and blood donation.

     

    The session ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Jacob Cherian, Head of Department of Physics. He appreciated MOHAN Foundation, Delhi-NCR for promptly responding to his invitation in spite of the short notice. He hoped that the Foundation would continue its relationship with the institution in order to spread awareness about this issue among young minds.

     

    41 students attended the session and 23 of them took the donor card.
