In collaboration with Namma Veetu Vishasham organized a 5 and 10 km Kalam Marathon. They called the run - "RUN FOR LIFE" in support of organ donation. MOHAN Foundation was the resource partner for this run.
The run began at 6.00 am outside of Olcott Memorial Higher Secondary School, Besant Nagar on November 17, 2024. The event was ceremoniously flagged off by Ms. Kalai, organizer of Namma Veetu Vishasham. MOHAN Foundation was represented by Dr. Hemal, Mr. Ganesh, Ms. Yamini & Ms. Arshiya Fathima. Students of Madras School of Social work supported as volunteers. They distributed brochures to runners. Approximately 250 participants actively engaged in the marathon, displaying commendable support for the cause. This collaborative effort not only encouraged physical activity but also raised crucial awareness about the significance of organ donation, underscoring its life-saving potential.
Mr. Hariharan, Kidney Recipient shared few words on the transformation in his life after the transplant. 29 runners came forward to pledge for organ donation. All runners received their medals, certificates and refreshments
