On July 26, 2025, the Lions Club Rishikesh Devbhoomi invited MOHAN Foundation to set up an information desk on organ donation at a blood donation camp held at Eureka Forbes Ltd, Chiddarwala, Dehradun. The invitation was extended by Mr. Gopal Narang, Charter President of the Lions Club.
The event combined voluntary blood donation with organ donation awareness. Mr. Sanchit Arora, Project Leader at MOHAN Foundation stationed at AIIMS Rishikesh, managed the desk, drawing interest from volunteers and donors alike.
Participants raised several questions, including:
• If my death occurs in another state and I have pledged for organ donation in Dehradun, how will my death be notified?
• Do medical students perform the last rites of the body after whole-body donation?
All queries were addressed at the desk, and frequently asked questions (FAQs) on organ donation were distributed.
Approximately 16 individuals visited the desk, with many expressing a willingness to pledge for organ donation. This initiative effectively combined the spirit of blood donation with organ donation awareness, inspiring attendees to take the next step towards saving lives.
