

An awareness session on organ and tissue donation was held on July 27, 2025 at the field office of HOPE for the community leaders group to spread awareness about the importance of organ and eye donation.
The session was conducted by Ms. Sangeetha K. Project Executive, who shared valuable information on how eye donation can change lives by restoring sight. She explained about corneal blindness and how timely eye donation can help patient to see the beautiful world.
The session also covered who is eligible to donate, cleared up common myths, and outlined the necessary steps and precautions to ensure a successful cornea donation.
Ms. Sangeetha also discussed the concepts of organ donation and brain death, including how organ donation works, recipients receive organs and highlighted the importance of being aware of potential scams. Around 20 members attended the session, and 17 of them collected donor cards.
