MOHAN Foundation was invited by BGS Global Hospital to participate in the Patient Support Group meeting for their patients and their family members to build confidence among the patients on organ transplantation on 14th February 2015.
Ms. Akshata spoke on the patient support initiatives of MOHAN Foundation and gave an exclusive presentation about the importance of deceased organ donation, religious and cultural barriers involved with organ donation, benefits of transplantation, concept of brain death and myths surrounding organ donation.
The discussion continued with questions on the technical aspects of organ donation, advantages of deceased organ donation, requirement and availability of organs for ill patients and legal aspects involved in organ donation.
We thank the management of BGS Global Hospital for organizing this innovative program involving patients which will motivate them to spread the information to the general public by participating in the public awareness programs.
