On March 29, 2024, legendary band ‘Parikrama’ played at Downtown Southpoint, Gurgaon to promote the cause of ending corneal blindness and supporting the MOHAN Foundation encouraging the audience to pledge for corneal donation. This was part of "Play for a Cause" initiative of 100 Pipers India.
Parikrama is a rock band from Delhi, formed in 1991 in Delhi. The band is considered to be one of Asia's biggest rock groups. Parikrama toured internationally with Iron Maiden in 2007, playing at the Download Festival in England. The band is known for its high-energy live performances and has released many singles in its over 3-decade long career.
The band has created a song, Translucent Nights, to raise awareness on India’s organ donation challenge. The entire music video for this song made up of people who have either received or agreed to donate their organs.
All the band members have pledged themselves to be organ donors.
The energy and passion of the band and the audience at the event was truly inspiring. The members urged the audience to pledge for corneal donation by scanning the QR codes placed on each table. Proceeds from the sale of the tickets will be given to MOHAN Foundation.
