An organ donation registration desk and information stall was set inside the Nageshwar Rao Park, Mylapore on 14th August 2015 at 7 am. This Independence day activity was at the initiative of Thuvakkam, an NGO that helps people to keep their premises clean.
Paper flags and green ribbons were given to the morning walkers in the park. After the flag hoisting, the registration desk was opened. Many walkers came forward to ask queries and get a better understanding about organ donation. The volunteers of MOHAN Foundation, Shaila, Neeraja and Renu and members of Thuvakkam helped in the registration process.
108 people registered for organ donation. A few wanted to register for whole body donation also. MOHAN Foundation thanks Krishna Kumar, president and his entire group for their interest in promoting the cause of organ donation.
