The All India Dr. Kamal Haasan Narpani Iyakkam, the social welfare wing of Kamal Haasan Fan Club initiated an Organ Donation drive during the inauguration of the new political party “Makkal Needhi Mayyam” under the leadership of Padma Bhushan Dr. Kamal Haasan. The event was organized in Madurai on 21st February 2018. Around 1 lakh people gathered for this big event. They invited MOHAN Foundation as the Official Knowledge Partner for Organ Donation.
The main aim of the event was to get as many followers who had gathered to register as organ donors. Mr. Ruban Victor, Marketing Manager and Mr. Siva Shankar, Helpline Executive of MOHAN Foundation were deputed to give information about Organ Donation. They set a stall with a banner, posters, information brochures and donor cards. People who visited the stall were given information about organ donation and doubts were clarified. They were also given information brochures. Around 1500 picked the registration forms and will collect the donor cards from their district offices.
