Organ donation awareness talk at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Secunderabad

  • A proposal was given to Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited for conducting awareness programmes to its employees across the State. As a response to this, Mr. Sreerama Murthy, HR-Manager, extended his support and organized the talk at its branches.

     

    The first talk in the Company was organized at Hindustan Petroleum, Secunderabad branch on 29th August 2012. Mr. Sreerama Murthy welcomed the representatives of MOHAN Foundation and the audience. Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram explained briefly about the functions of each organ and factors which leads to failure of an organ, the concepts of organ donation and MOHAN Foundation's activities. One of the employees shared the story about the wife of one of  HPCL employees who received a Heart transplant and that she got the heart from a person who met with an accident (deceased donor). The case was discussed further in detail by Mrs. Raghuram.

     

    Around 20 people attended and made the session interactive by asking several questions. One of the employee showed keen interest in being  a volunteer of the Foundation. The staff appreciated  Foundation's efforts for doing such good work. They also picked donor cards for their families, other employees and friends.
