On 11th July 2018, MOHAN Foundation Mumbai was invited by Neel Hospital (Panvel) to conduct an awareness talk on Organ Donation for their staff.
The session was started by Mrs. Jigisha Yadav by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, objectives and history. She then went on to ask them what came to their minds when they thought of Organ Donation. Many expressed with positive thoughts and emotions.
Thereafter, Mrs. Jigisha introduced to them the concept of organ donation, types of organs and tissues that can be donated, types of death, the concept of brain death, difference between brain death and comma. She also discussed the myths to do with organ donation. Information about organ allocation, and distribution were also shared.
There were around 20 staff members. A few of them took the pledge.
We thank Dr. Pandharinath Neel for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
