Awareness Session on Organ Donation at Kitty Party at Suyog Society, Navi Mumbai

  • On 15th July, 2018, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mrs. Vandana Mande, one of the members of a Kitty Party gathering, to conduct an awareness session on organ donation at Navi Mumbai (Nerul sec-18).

    Mrs. Jigisha Yadav started explaining on what is Organ Donation, when, who, why and how it can be done? Then she spoke about what is transplantation. She briefly focused on the need for organs, India’s organ donation rate, brain stem death, how to diagnose, certify and who can certify, cornea donation, religious barriers, and myths related to organ donation.She also explained about the Laws and Entity of Maharashtra.

    The members actively participated and it was quite interactive with many questions being asked and answered. The members had some specific queries on tissue and Organ donation which were answered.

    About 10 members attended the program and were distributed information brochures and 4 of them have pledged for Organ Donation.
