Organ donation awareness at Siruvanur village for NSS Students Of BMC

  • MOHAN Foundation was given an opportunity to create awareness on OrganDonation for NSS students on March 09, 2026. Around 80 NSS Volunteersfrom different departments of the Bhakthavasalam memorial college forwomen attended the sessions.Mrs. Arshiya Fathima. H (Senior project officer) and Ms. Kanishka (ProjectExecutive) distributed green ribbons and information brochures to all students.The session started with Dr. Sasikala, NSS Officer introducing the work ofMOHAN Foundation and the speakers. Ms. Arshiya Fathima began thesession with Q&A activity. There were interesting answers from students. Thiswas followed with a talk on the Concepts of Organ Donation andTransplantation which included who, what, when and how donation canhappen. Additional information on eye, skin and whole body donation wasprovided. She also explained brain death and shared a recipient story througha video.Some questions asked by students:1. Is there any cost to the donor’s family?2. Can a person donate both organs and body?3. What is the waiting list?4. Is family consent important?At the end of the session Ms. Arshiya invited the volunteers to train as Angelsof Change.
