Rotary Club of Thane Creekside, lead by Mr. Sandeep Sharma invited Mrs. Jaya Jairam of MOHAN Foundation to conduct an awareness talk for the residents of Everest World, Kolshet, Thane, on 2nd October 2019.
Mrs. Jaya Jairam explained the concepts of organ donation, why it was important, types of donors and which organs and tissues could be donated. She went on to discuss a few of the barriers in the minds of the public, which created misconceptions and fear among the public when it came to deceased organ donation.
A crowd of 20 persons attended the event and 7 ended up taking the pledge.
MOHAN Foundation is grateful to Rotary Club of Thane Creekside for taking up the much needed initiative of spread awareness about organ donation.
