On March 22, 2025, The Venkateshwar School, Gurugram, invited MOHAN Foundation (MF) to set up an information desk on organ donation during its Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM). The invitation was extended by Ms. Jaya Srivastava, Head of the Science Department.
Ms. Sanya Santosh, Programme Officer, MF Delhi-NCR, was contacted by Ms. Sukhvinder Lal, Senior Officer, Manipal Organ Sharing & Transplant (MOST), Manipal Hospital, New Delhi, regarding the event.
Ms. Sanya Santosh managed the MF information desk, while Mr. Ganesh, Eye Bank Counsellor, Y.P.M. Niramaya Eye Bank, Gurugram, set up a separate desk focusing on eye donation. The initiative attracted school staff, parents, and students.
Visitors raised several questions, including:
• How long after death can eyes be donated, and why?
• Does the MOHAN Foundation helpline operate 24/7?
• Can the organ donation pledge form be filled online, and what are the steps?
All queries were addressed, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on organ donation were distributed. Additionally, students created organ models, which drew significant attention.
Approximately 30 individuals visited the information desk, and one person pledged to donate organs through the NOTTO website.
