On June 04, 2023 Lions Club organized their Regional face to face meeting at District Central Office, Porur at 10.00 am. On this occasion MOHAN Foundation was given an opportunity to put up an information desk to create awareness on organ donation and transplantation.
With the support of Lion J. Paraneetharan (Zone Chairperson), the team of Ms. Arshiya Fathima H (Helpline counselor) and Ms.Yamini.M (Community education executive) set up an Information desk at the entrance of the meeting hall where the visibility is maximum. The desk had a standee, information brochures, green ribbons and registration forms and donor cards.
Around 80 Lions Club members attended the meeting. Around 60 members visited the desk and gained knowledge on Organ Donation and Transplantation and 12 of them picked up the donor card. Mr. Ganesan - President Lions Club and Principal of Sri Kalaivani Vidhyalaya Matric Higher Secondary School, shared his thoughts on Organ Donation and his interest on cornea donation. Ms. Arshiya explained about Organ Donation registration, Transplantation and about the Helpline call 18001037100 and its uses.
