MOHAN Foundation conducted an initiative on publicity of the helpline for organ donation with auto drivers on 25th and 26th June 2025. As part of this outreach, Ms. Sandhiyashree GK and Ms. Yogashree M, interns from Anna Adarsh College for Women and Organ Donation Ambassadors actively participated in the campaign. The MOHAN Foundation toll free helpline answers queries in 8 languages for donation and transplantation of organs.
The interns visited auto stands at various locations including Avadi, Shenoy Nagar, and Chennai Central Railway Station. They distributed informative brochures and personally explained to the drivers the importance and life-saving impact of organ donation.
In addition to raising awareness, stickers carrying the message of organ donation along with the MOHAN Foundation’s helpline number 1800 103 7100 were placed on the autos — with the drivers’ willing consent.
There were numerous queries relating to organ donation which included:
Why should I donate?
I consume alcohol how can I donate?
I am very old, can I donate?
At the end of the session the ambassadors had approached 72 auto drivers, 3 drivers took donor cards and 40 drivers supporting the cause by placing the stickers on their autos. The drivers were very positive to the support of organ and tissue donation.
