On March 10, 2025, Mr. Gabriel Pereira, an organ donation ambassador from MOHAN Foundation, conducted an awareness talk for the staff of the Directorate of Education, Porvorim, Goa. He began by screening Gifting Life, a short film by ROTTO/SOTTO Mumbai, before introducing MOHAN Foundation and its offices across India.
Using a PowerPoint presentation, he covered key topics such as organs and tissues that can be donated in circulatory and brain stem death, the concept of brain stem death, the difference between coma and brain stem death, and the process of pledging to be an organ donor. He also distributed Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and emphasized the importance of informing family members about one’s decision to donate.
Due to preparations for the upcoming Goa Assembly Session, many staff members could not attend. However, the session coordinator, Ms. Deepa, assured that another session would be arranged soon. Mr. Gabriel concluded by thanking Mr. Shailesh R. Sinai Zingde, Director of Education, for facilitating the awareness talk.
