Organ Donation Awareness on Independence Day by Aam Aadmi Party in Nagpur

  On 15^th August 2021 MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mrs. Kavita Singhal, Convener of Aam Aadmi Party Nagpur to deliver an awareness talk on organ donation. Dr. Ravi Wankhede, Honorary Director of the Foundation was the Chief Guest at the event.

  Dr. Devender Wankhede - Vidarbha Convener, Mr. Jagdish Singh - Treasurer of Maharashtra AAP office, Mr. Bhushan Dakulkar - Secretary of AAP Nagpur office and other designate members were present during the event that was held in the party’s Nagpur Head Office in Civil Lines.

  Dr. Wankhede used a PowerPoint presentation and covered the following points during his talk:

  • Organ donation and tissue donation
  • Difference between coma and brain death
  • Difference between natural death and drain death
  • The organ donation process
  • Organs and tissues that can be donated after natural death and brain death
  • Role of ZTCC
  • Role of NOTTO, ROTTO and SOTTO in organ donation and transplantation
  • Transplant Law
  • MOHAN Foundation’ activities
  • Importance of donor card
  • Using MOHAN Foundation’s helpline number and website

  Approximately 80 members were present and all of them pledged to donate their organs and collected donor cards. Mr. Bhushan Dhakulkar thanked MOHAN Foundation as well as the AAP members as the session ended.
