Organ Donation Awareness for the members of a Joint Liability Group in Salem

  On October 23rd, 2018 MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Pechiyappan, (CSR) of Suryoday Small Finance Bank, Salem, to deliver an awareness talk on organ donation. 57 participants who attended the session were members of a Joint Liability Group

  Mr. S. Dileep Kumar from MOHAN Foundation introduced himself to the audience and began by trying to comprehend the participants’ level of understanding of organ donation and transplantation through an interactive session. He then continued with a presentation on the topic and covered the following points:

  • Saving lives through organ donation
  • Difference between natural death and brain death
  • Types of organ donation and who can be a donor
  • Registration process in case of organ requirement
  • Transplantation of Human Organ Act
  • Age as a criteria in organ donation

  There was a brief Q&A session after this, following which Mr. Pechiyappan thanked Mr. Dileep Kumar for conducting the session on organ donation at Suryoday Small Finance Bank, Hasthampatti, Salem.
