On 9th March 2019, MOHAN Foundation Imphal conducted an awareness session for the CISF Staff at the Imphal Airport CISF Campus. Approximately 44 staff and 2 doctors were present at the session and all the CISF staff pledged their organs and received donor cards as well.
Ms. Roma Devi began with an introduction about the concepts of organ donation. She went on to explain the necessity and importance of organ donation, types of donors and the difference between brain death and cardiac or circulatory death. Tissues and organs that could be donated in case of brain death and cardiac death and the importance of carrying donor cards were also discussed.
The programme ended with a long Q&A session with participants asking questions about organ donation and the registration process. Along with Ms Roma, Dr. Sholay, Urologist from JNIMS also answered the questions.
