  On 26^th November 2020, on the occasion of Constitution Day, an online awareness talk on organ donation and transplantation was organized for the members of Marwadi Mahila Mandal 

  Dr. Ravi Wankhede, Honorary Director of MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur was the speaker for the occasion. He introduced MOHAN Foundation, mentioned that 'MOHAN' is an acronym for Multi-Organ harvesting Aid Network and also shared the activities, mission and vision of the Foundation.

  He explained the concepts of organ donation, types of death (cardiac death and brain death), organs and tissues that can be donated after brain death and natural death. He further explained the difference between coma and brain death and the difference between organ donation and body donation. Various myths and facts about organ donations were discussed, information about organ allocation and distribution was shared.

  Many queries were also answered by Dr. Wankhede about allocation and distribution of organs; the difference between coma and brain death; religion and organ donation. There were around 65 women who attended the session and a few of them expressed their willingness to register online as organ donors.
