Organ Donation Awareness at Nightingale Nursing Institute, Imphal

MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Nightingale Nursing Institute, Imphal to deliver an awareness talk for its students on 23^rd January 2019.

Ms. Sorokhaibam Roma Devi, Transplant Coordinator from MOHAN Foundation was present at the Institute to deliver the talk. Around 30 students and 3 faculty members were present. The following topics were discussed:
- Necessity and importance of organ donation
- Type of donors
- Difference between brain death and circulatory death
- The tissues that could be donated in case of natural death
- Brain death and the organs and tissues that can be donated in case of brain death
- Importance of Donor Cards
- Using Help Line number and MOHAN Foundation website
The students had a few questions relating to the donor registration process. A few students also registered as organ donors and receive donor cards.
