Organ Donation Awareness at Nightingale Nursing Institute, Imphal

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Nightingale Nursing Institute, Imphal to deliver an awareness talk for its students on 23rd January 2019.

    Ms. Sorokhaibam Roma Devi, Transplant Coordinator from MOHAN Foundation was present at the Institute to deliver the talk.  Around 30 students and 3 faculty members were present. The following topics were discussed:

    • Necessity and importance of organ donation
    • Type of donors
    • Difference between brain death and circulatory death
    • The tissues that could be donated in case of natural death
    • Brain death and the organs and tissues that can be donated in case of brain death
    • Importance of Donor Cards
    • Using Help Line number and MOHAN Foundation website

    The students had a few questions relating to the donor registration process. A few students also registered as organ donors and receive donor cards.
