Organ Donation Awareness at Model Higher Secondary School

  • On 3rd May 2019, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session for the students of Model Higher Secondary School in Takyel, Imphal. Around 47 students were present at the session.

     

    Ms. Roma Devi, Transplant Co-ordinator from MOHAN Foundation delivered the talk. The following topics were discussed during the session:

     

    • The necessity and importance of organ donation
    • Types of donors
    • The difference between brain death and cardiac or circulatory death.
    • Tissues and organs that could be donated in case of brain death and cardiac death
    • The importance of carrying donor cards
    • Using MOHAN Foundation’s website and helpline number

     

    The programme ended with a Q&A session with participants asking questions about the donor registration process and how organ donation happens in hospitals. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to Model Higher Secondary School for the opportunity.
