


An tissue and organ donation awareness session was conducted at Kola Saraswathi Agarwal Samaj Health Centre Hospital, Purasaiwakkam, Chennai on August 05, 2025. The session aimed to educate the hospital staff and members of the Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan on the significance of tissue and organ donation and encourage individuals to pledge as donors.
The session was delivered by Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, from MOHAN Foundation, who explained the key concepts of organ donation, including the definition of brain death, the process of organ allocation, and the steps to register as a donor. She also addressed common myths and misconceptions and shared a recipient story to illustrate the life-saving impact of organ donation.
This was followed by Mr. Hariharan Babu, an organ recipient, who shared his personal transplant journey, offering a powerful and emotional testimony of hope and second chances.
The session witnessed the participation of around 50 attendees and concluded with an interactive Q&A and distribution of organ donor pledge forms.
